Description
This is a used seal that was carved in Rokugo Town. I soaked it in bleach and washed away dirt with detergent, but the condition shown in Photo 2 is the best I could achieve. I don't believe the stone is as expensive as chicken blood stone, but it was used by someone who taught calligraphy, so I believe it is of decent quality.
The seal impression is in seal script and reads 朱 (Shu) (Photo 1).
Also, the black seen in Photo 5 is not ink, but rather black spots embedded within the stone.
The dimensions are 4cm x 4cm x approximately 12cm in length. There are no cracks or chips. It weighs approximately 520g, giving it a substantial feel, and it is a large seal as shown in the photos.
