FUJIFILM FinePix 40i Digital Camera - Malfunctioning

Description
FUJIFILM FinePix 40i
Malfunctioning
Body only
Purchased at the time of release and stored after upgrading.
I believe it was used with a charger and rechargeable battery, but they are either discarded or cannot be found.
When I tested its operation with dry batteries,
it initially started up for photos and videos,
but now it only opens the front camera aperture and then repeatedly stops operating and turns off.
