This is a thumb rest with a strap ring for the Buffet Crampon B♭ clarinet, released by B.Air, known for their bird straps. (For older model rests)

Made from machined brass, it also affects the instrument's resonance.
Personally, I feel it improves breath response, making the sound richer and more powerful.
On the part indicated by the arrow in the 3rd photo, there was originally a cork that contacted the instrument, but I removed it because the instrument resonates better without it. ^^;
⚠️ Does not fit current Buffet Crampon rests.
