Vintage 1980s Batik Tapestry of Butterflies. Handmade in Indonesia. Hot Wax and dye method on cotton cloth. 35.5 by 27.5 In very good condition. Beautiful piece to be framed and hung up on the wall. Modern batik tapestries are mostly fabric paintings on one side of the cloth. The traditional batik tapestry- seen here -uses hot wax and natural color dyes and the whole process takes longer. The beauty of it, you are able to see the paintings on both sides of the cloth.
