This is the RIDGE MOUNTAIN GEAR version of the Sun Company's Thermo-Compass.
It combines a compass and a thermometer that can measure temperatures from -30°C to 50°C. It's useful for day hikes, overnight trips, and for checking the temperature inside or outside your tent at night. Recording temperature data along with your clothing and sleeping gear can be very convenient.
You can attach it to your existing keychain or use it as a standalone keychain. Please note that the compass magnet can be strongly affected by vehicles, high-voltage lines, steel desks, and electrical appliances like TV speakers, which may cause it to point in the wrong direction. The back of the unit includes a table for measuring perceived temperature (m/s) in windy conditions. *Water-resistant.
