This vintage ART (Arthur Pepper) Christmas Tree brooch from the 1960s is a rare and highly collectible holiday design. Crafted in an antique gold tone, the tree is adorned with painted white enamel candles, each topped with colorful rhinestone “flames” in red, blue, and green. A sparkling rhinestone star tops the tree, adding the finishing touch. This brooch is a documented book piece, featured in Costume Jewelry 101 by Julia C. Carroll (p. 103) and in Christmas Tree Pins by Nancy Yunker Trowbridge (p. 12). The ART company (MODEART), owned by Arthur Pepper, was active from the 1950s–1970s. Signed pieces are marked ART in capital letters, and after 1955 also included the copyright symbol. According to Carroll, ART designs often used unique stones and color combinations reminiscent of Florenza and Hollycraft jewelry. Their Christmas jewelry, figural pins, and colorful enamel designs are among their most desirable creations. A must-have for collectors of vintage Christmas jewelry or a perfect holiday gift.
