Description
Master Craftsman: Kutani Ware, by Jun Takekoshi - Teacup Bamboo and Sparrows Free Cup (No shared box)
This is a work by Jun Takekoshi, a master craftsman representing modern Kutani Ware and an Intangible Cultural Property holder designated by Ishikawa Prefecture.
The exterior features a powerful brushstroke depicting stretching bamboo (bamboo grass), and when you peek inside, you'll find a charming sparrow peeking out. This is a wonderful design that conveys the vitality of nature, a specialty of the artist.
The artist's genuine signature, 潤 (Jun), is clearly inscribed on the bottom.
With a diameter and height of 9cm each, it's slightly larger than a typical teacup, giving it a substantial presence. It fits comfortably in your hand, making it suitable not only as a teacup but also as a shochu cup, rock glass, or free cup for multi-purpose use.
