Refurbished and fully functional SONY TCM-400 monaural cassettecorder

Overview: This is Sony's last monaural tape recorder. Because it was produced for a relatively long period, from around 2000 to 2010, many units are available as either junk or refurbished. However, this model has a defect where the recorded sound is extremely quiet. The unit I am offering is expensive, but the defect has been corrected.

Features:
- Double speed mode. You can record for 90 minutes on one side of a 90-minute tape.
- VOR (Voice Operated Recording). When set to High or Low, the motor stops when there is about 5 seconds of silence during recording and restarts when sound is detected again. Please use this in the Off position under normal circumstances.
- Uninterrupted playback speed adjustment
- Tape counter
- External microphone jack
- Cue & Review
- External power jack (3V, EIAJ#1 AC-E30M can be used.)
- Automatic stop at tape end during recording and playback

Repair Details: Please refer to images 5, 6, and 7. Also, although I forgot to mention it in image 6, I have also adjusted the ALC settings as usual.

Notes:
- This sale is for the main unit only. Please prepare two AA batteries and a recording tape separately.
- I will maintain the starting bid of 6800 yen for now, but I plan to increase the price from the next listing as pinch roller hardening and drive wheel damage are becoming more noticeable. I will ignore discount negotiations unless competitors appear who perform similar improvements to mine and offer them at a lower price. I will gradually lower the price when I feel like it, but the minimum will be 5800 yen.
- Many people mistake this for a Walkman, but this model is a monaural cassette recorder. If you connect headphones or earphones, you will hear sound in both ears, but it is not stereo. When listening with one ear, you can use 2-pole, 3-pole, or 4-pole earphones.
- There are quite a few scratches and dirt. Please refer to image 4.

Packaging and Shipping: Approximately 250g, over 3cm thick. If purchased for 6300 yen or more, it will be shipped via RakuRaku Mercari Bin Compact. If purchased for less than that, it will be shipped via YuYu Mercari Packet Plus.
