Vintage Loren Lukens bud vase

Beautiful, authentic studio art pottery bud vase handcrafted by prominent Pacific Northwest ceramic artist Loren Lukens (Brace Point Pottery, Seattle, WA). This stunning piece features a striking postmodern, geometric design with a hexagonal base that tapers elegantly to a circular rim.The vase showcases Lukens' signature abstract expressionist style, combining bold, textured color blocks of plum purple, slate gray, and rich oxblood red. These vibrant fields are beautifully contrasted by energetic, hand-painted black iron gestural brushstrokes and slip lines. The exterior features a smooth matte-to-satin finish that feels wonderful in the hand. The base is clearly incised with the artist's distinctive cursive script signature (Lukens). Excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks, crazing, or repairs. The unglazed bottom rim shows minor, light shelf wear consistent with age and display, which is typical for vintage studio pottery. Height: 7.5” Base Width: about 2.5”
