Apply a thin layer to joint corks and neck corks.
Maintains airtightness and ensures smooth movement.
Old grease can lead to cork deterioration.
Furthermore, if too much grease is applied or if it's not wiped off sufficiently before storing the instrument, it can make the instrument case sticky, cause dirt to adhere and turn brown, or get on the inside of the instrument when passing a swab through, which is unhygienic and bad for the instrument.

Please wipe off the grease from the corks and joint sections with gauze, a towel, or tissues specifically for wiping grease before storing the instrument in its case.
For hygiene, regularly wash gauze and towels, and replace old ones.
Cotton swabs are useful for hard-to-reach areas.
